Service and medical robotics: value depends on workflow and regulation

Cleaning, hospitality, inspection and healthcare robots cover very different risk, evidence and support requirements.

Professional services

Service robots can guide visitors, clean floors, inspect facilities, transport supplies or support security patrols. The value case combines labor availability, consistency, coverage and traceability. A buyer should test navigation around people, elevator and door integration, communications loss and manual recovery.

Healthcare and rehabilitation

Medical robotics ranges from regulated surgical systems to rehabilitation and laboratory automation. Claims need clinical and regulatory context: a device may be approved for a narrow indication, under study, or only a research platform. Procurement should involve clinical, biomedical engineering, privacy, infection-control and regulatory teams.

Data and accountability

Cameras, microphones and patient or visitor data introduce privacy and cybersecurity obligations. Define where data is processed, retention, access, model updates and incident response. In Brazil, applicability can include LGPD, ANVISA rules for medical devices and ANATEL approval for radio equipment.
